Golf in Estonia

Golf in Estonia – Estonia is the youngest country in Europe. With its multifaceted landscape, the northernmost and smallest state in the Baltic region is one of Europe’s hidden natural paradises.

Half of Estonia is covered with forest. Waterfalls, dense forests, thousands of lakes, numerous moor and marshland landscapes and countless islands characterize the landscape of the country. Around 1,500 islands line the bay-rich coast, some of which have fine, bright sandy beaches. Large islands such as Ösel, Dagö or Moon invite you to take a day trip into the tranquil natural surroundings.

Estonia’s newest national park, Alutaguse National Park, is located in the north-east of the country. The 43,000 square kilometers are home to the largest coniferous forests in the country – and also the longest sandy beach. Other sights include the Smolnitsa Dune in the north of Lake Peipus, the Narva River and Europe’s most extensive marshland in Puhatu. Animal lovers can observe golden eagles, European flying squirrels and bears here.

The historic capital city of Tallinn creates a medieval impression with its numerous monuments to the past. Situated in the Finnish bight of the Baltic Sea, the old Hanseatic city has a unique character and was named European Capital of Culture in 2011 for good reason. The old city wall, the numerous towers and the Heiliggeistkirche church are reminders of the country’s history.

Although the summer is comparatively short, both locals and tourists are drawn to the fine sandy Baltic Sea coast during the hottest months of the year. Pärnu, the unofficial summer capital of Estonia, is surrounded by lime trees, wooden houses and fine beaches. While nature vacationers enjoy the paradisiacal nature of Estonia in spring and autumn, winter sports enthusiasts get their money’s worth in the colder months. The many hills turn into a paradise for skiers and snowboarders in winter.
